The Japan-Netherlands Society in Kansai (JNSK) or Nichi Ran Kyoukai is a society aimed at corporate and cultural exchange between Japan and the Netherlands. JNSK is proposing a closer relation with the NVWJ and exchange information and events.

Overview of Japan-Netherlands Society of the Kansai

Establishment
The Society was established in March 1959, following a proposal by Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Panasonic Corporation through the cooperation of industry, administration and academia.

Background
The beginning of the Society dates back to 1952, when then Matsushita Electronics Purpose of Corporation (MEC) was established with the signing of a technical and capital joint
Establishment:venture contract between Philips and Matsushita Electric Industrial (currently Panasonic Corporation). Because MEC was well-managed and contributed to the industrial development of Japan and Netherlands, Mr. Konosuke Matsushita received the great honor of being decorated Commander in the Order of Orange Nassau by Her Majesty Queen Juliana of the Netherlands in 1958.
He wished to reciprocate the honor and thought of establishing a Netherlands-Japan society in Kansai that is independent from that in Tokyo with a wish to promote cultural and economic exchange and deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations. This is why he proposed the establishment of Japan-Netherlands Society of the Kansai.
