With great pleasure, Kansai Canada Business Association (KCBA) would like to invite you to join us for the “Nara business tour”.

This tour will provide opportunities to interact with Nara’s business and social leaders to discover its unique and innovative business culture. The aim of this tour is to improve our understanding of the diverse business cultures of the Kansai region – the community KCBA aims to server. We hope you will join us and participate in this opportunity to understanding of the Nara’s business need and its business culture.

Nara has unique and innovative industries which have backgrounds that go back thousands of years. Not just the traditional industries but even the temples and shrines – while maintaining their traditions – are also adapting to the changes in the social environment.

It will be our great please to know how your perspective of Nara’s business culture changes after this program.

Tour Date and Timing:
November 26 (Saturday) – Tour Starts in Nara at 9:30 AM and finishes at 5:00 PM

Program – Details

9:30 Meet in front of the Gyoki statue (Gyoki Bosatu Zo fountain) – (Kintetsu Nara Station) and travel by taxies to our first destination Kuretake Co. Ltd.

10:00 Visit – Kuretake Co., Ltd.

Kuretake is a manufacturer of “Sumi” – a traditional Japanese ink. The company has a maintained a tradition of continuous innovation and for cultivating global markets. They have succeeded by introducing new products and usage of their original “Sumi” other diversified products.

Kuretake also maintains good working condition for its employees, such as a company owned kinder garden. Company’s English Web-Page: www.kuretake.co.jp/en/index.html

In winter, Kuretake produces “Sumi” in the traditional 1,300 year old style. They have kindly set up a special demonstration for our group.

13:00 A visit to “Minna no O-Tera” (People’s Temple:http://www.jurin-in.com/minna.html ), a walk through Higashimuki shopping street and Nara Machi), ending at Jurin-in Temple

Hashimoto Junshin Jushoku – (Chief priest) will kindly welcome us at the temple. He is a very energetic person creating many innovative projects. He is also the chairman of “Nanto Ni Roku Kai” – a voluntary temples group in Nara.

15:45 Visit Todaiji and Todaiji museum (The museum just opened on 10th of October, 2011)
