We would like to invite you to the 233rd Regular Meeting of the Japan-Netherlands Society of the Kansai. At this meeting, in special cooperation of the National Museum of Art, Osaka and the Asahi Shimbun Company, Masahiro Yasugi, the head researcher of the National Museum of Art, Osaka will provide an interpretation of Bruegel’s “The Tower of Babel,” a collection of the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, to members of our society. We hope that you will truly enjoy the exhibition. We look forward to your participation.

Collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen Bruegel’s “The Tower of Babel
“The Tower of Babel” by Bruegel, a master painter, returned to Japan from the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, Netherlands for the first time in 24 years. Hieronymus Bosch’s two oil paintings, which depict a fantastic world with his unique realist approach, are on display for the first time in Japan. Furthermore, about 90 artistic works including other paintings and sculptures are also on offer. Please don’t miss this exhibition that highlights the attractiveness of 16th century Dutch paintings.

16:30: Applicants are processed in front of the auditorium on the first basement of the National Museum of Art, Osaka
17:00: Interpretation by Mr. Masahiro Yasugi, curator (auditorium)
17:45: Viewing of Bruegel’s “The Tower of Babel”
You can leave any time you wish after the viewing
(The museum closes at 21:00. This event is not a private viewing, so feel free to enjoy other collections concurrently being exhibited.)

Admission fee only (for group)
Adults 1,300 yen / University students 1,000 yen / High school students 500 yen / Children (up to Junior high school) free
If you are a student, please bring your student ID card on the day.

If you want to make changes to your registration, then please make sure to contact the secretariat by the day before the meeting.
Please pay the fee at the reception desk on the day. Advance payment is not required.
