Een nieuwe datum voor de “Eerste Kwartaalsborrel 2008” is vastgelegd voor vrijdag 9 mei in de “Oude Kaas”/Osaka.
Op zondag 6 april vindt wederom de jaarlijkse Hanami party plaats aan de vertrouwde Ashiya rivier.
Cultuur dag – Korean town / Keihan subway - Zaterdag 22 Maart, 2008
De cultuur dag brengt ons naar Korea en naar de ondergrondse wereld van Osaka. Het Koreaans centrum dicht bij Tsuruhashi station op de loop-line in Osaka biedt een heerlijke lunch en een tour door de markt en winkelstraatjes. Keihan Engineering biedt een guided tour door de nieuwe ondergrondse trein in Nakano-shima.

A bit of NV history
In May 2002 the Netherlands Society in West Japan organized a unique event at Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine on the peak of Mt. Otokoyama in the historical city of Yawata. We invited a traditional doll maker, a tea ceremony master and a Japanese etiquette teacher for an immersion into Japanese culture. The exciting day ended with an exclusive tour through some of the holiest places of the shrine. Dive back in history and enjoy that special culture day once again.
Hanami April 10 2005
Photos of the Hanami and Egg Hunt event in Ashiya on April 10 2005. Some 47 members and friends showed up this day, the weather was great and the cherry blossom just perfect. In short, it was a great success.
Sint op bliksembezoek in Japan
Sinterklaas heeft het al peperdruk in Nederland, hij moet ook nog op bliksembezoeken bij Nederlandse expats over de gehele wereld. Afgelopen zaterdag bezocht hij de ambstwoning van Consul-Generaal Jan de Vries in de West-Japanse stad Nishinomiya. Op een bruin paard want schimmels zijn een grote zeldzaamheid in een land waar witte paarden vanouds werden beschouwd als boodschappers van de goden.
